Olonzac, minervois, south of france
Olonzac, the capital of the Minervois, has a history dating back as early as the 6th century BC. Today it’s a thriving small town with lots of character and a typical French Mediterranean feel. There are several café bars and restaurants to choose from, as well as Pizzas to eat in or takeaway, you can relax and enjoy the local cuisine, or just people watch on warm summer evenings from the cafe pavements. A short stroll back to Eloi Merle, perhaps finish your evening with one last glass of local wine wandering the grounds, or perhaps a last midnight swim.
Just a few minutes out of town is Lac de Jouarres, a beautiful lake used for fishing, boating, swimming and wind surfing or just a peaceful walk in the sun. Cycling is very popular, as there are many gently rolling roads and if you want to exert yourselves you can cycle in the hills - say to Minerve. But then it is downhill coming back!
